About us
Find out about us and horse and pony retirement on our family farm in the Surrey countryside.
We have been caring for horses and ponies at grass for many years and believe in keeping them in a natural herd environment at grass, where they have room to roam and graze throughout the changing seasons.
Family Farmers
Set on our delightful family farm, in Cobham Surrey, where our family have been farming for over 50 years, we have many years of experience in caring for horses and ponies at grass in a natural herd environment.
Liz Earl is a BHS Accredited Professional Coach who has been riding throughout her life. She has worked with many types of horses, specialising in retired horses and ponies in recent years. She believes in natural horsemanship principles and giving a peaceful home, with forage, friends and freedom for horses and ponies when their working lives are over.
With an interest in sustainable land management practices and keeping horses in an extensive, near-natural way, Liz enjoys caring for them and seeing them flourish in their retirement.
Knowledgeable Team
Liz works with her sister, Rosemary Miller, who is also BHS Qualified and very experienced in caring for your horse or pony at grass, all year round.
We have a trusted support team of experts and advisors – farriers, barefoot trimmers, vets, equine dentists and horse nutritionists to ensure that we have the best care available for your horse.
We will ensure that you are kept updated with news of your horse or pony to give you peace of mind, whether you are able to visit or not.
Manor Meadows is an Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) Approved Livery Yard and we operate to their standards and procedures.
Sustainable management
We are committed to providing a natural way of life for our retired horses and we strive to make their environment more sustainable. We tread lightly on the land by having smaller animals. Manor Meadows has permanent pastures, broad hedgerows, ancient oaks and rewilding fields which provide a wonderful natural for your horse to enjoy.
